For its first edition, the festival invited to Loguivy, for a one-month-long residency, the Japanese photographer Kodo CHIJIIWA whose perspective coming from abroad will make us rediscover the region and its inhabitants under a new angle…
The Symphony series features 25 photographs he realized during his artistic residency in Loguivy-de-la-Mer in February 2019 and exhibited for the first time at the BZH PHOTO festival that summer.
From the island of Yakushima, world-renowned for its natural heritage, Kodo is often turned towards its environment, the sacred forest and the ocean swept by typhoons. His mastery of the silver film in multiple exhibitions offers a new field of perception. Sensitive and ethereal, his photographic work portrays a breathing nature.
Through Symphony, Kodo offers us his own view of the estran and coasts of Loguivy-de-la-Mer.
All the images produced for BZH PHOTO 2019 are available on request, in large print sizes of 60 × 60 and 100 × 100 cm.
