For its second edition, the festival invited to Loguivy, the Swedish photographer Mårten LANGE to carry out an artistic residency in February 2020 during which he freely discovered the region and met its people.
The Tidvatten series features 25 photographs he realized during his artistic residency in Loguivy-de-la-Mer in February 2020 and will be exhibited for the first time at the BZH PHOTO festival this summer.
Mårten Lange (Gothenburg, Sweden, 1984) is an artist working with photography. His work is about the themes of nature, technology, architecture and urban society.
Lange has published several books of his work, among them The Mechanism (MACK, 2017), Citizen (Études, 2015) and Another Language (MACK, 2012). His photographs have been exhibited internationally, recently at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Rencontres des Arles festival and at Robert Morat Galerie in Berlin.
In his characteristic black and white style, his subjects are isolated from their environment and acquire sculptural qualities. From the sublime to the banal, each of these subjects attain equal importance under Mårten’s gaze.
